Graziella e nonno

Camarda’s company is a typical reality since four generations.
Graziella inherited the vineyard from her father Gaetano, after she stayed next to him for years during business management. Now she is giving continuity to the long family tradition.
DOC vineyards are in two different areas: Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzo.
The inherited vineyard is in two different districts: Feudo di Mezzo and Porcaria, 650 meters over the sea, both between Etna volcano and Alcantara valley, at the foot of the Nebrodi Mountains. The centuries-old vineyards are located on drywall terraces and are free-standing. Half part of these vineyards is at ‘alberello’, and the other half at ‘spalliera’. The vineyard is 100% Nerello Mascalese, even if it is possible to find grapes of Nerello Cappuccio. However, there are also spears grapes of Carricante, Catarratto, Insolia, and Minnella.
The second vineyard is 100% Carricante and is located in Sciaranuova, 800 meters over the sea. Graziella bought it in 1998 with her husband Salvatore, but they planted it just in 2019, after this business started to be something important not just for her family.

Graziella inherited not only the family vineyard, but also the love and the passion of cultivating according to the ancient tradition, handed down from father to son. For this reason, she works always respecting the nature using a little amount of quantity of sulfur and copper sulfate, practicing especially hand work and not adding elements for the process of vinification. This wine has a spontaneous fermentation process just with ‘indigenous yeasts’.
